🔹 What is “Position & Relation”?

These prepositions don’t just tell where something is —
they show how one thing is positioned compared to another.

👉 Ask:
“Where is it compared to something else?”

🔵 1. UNDER = Directly below (often covered or hidden)

👉 Use “under” when something is right below another thing, usually very close or covered

🧠 Think like this:

👉 If you can imagine something just beneath another object → UNDER

✅ Examples:

  • The cat is under the table
  • The bag is under the chair

👉 The object is directly below and near

🔴 2. ABOVE = Higher than (not touching)

👉 Use “above” when something is higher than another thing, but not touching it

🧠 Think like this:

👉 UP but not touching → ABOVE

✅ Examples:

  • The fan is above my head
  • The plane is flying above the clouds

🟢 3. BELOW = Lower than (level/position)

👉 Use “below” when something is at a lower level, not necessarily directly under

🧠 Think like this:

👉 Lower position (not exact) → BELOW

✅ Examples:

  • The temperature is below zero
  • His marks are below average

👉 It’s about level, not exact position

🟡 4. BETWEEN = Middle of two things (clear separation)

👉 Use “between” when something is in the middle of two specific things

🧠 Think like this:

👉 2 things → BETWEEN

✅ Examples:

  • She is sitting between Ali and Ahmed
  • The shop is between two buildings

👉 You can clearly see both sides

🟣 5. AMONG = Middle of many things (group)

👉 Use “among” when something is inside a group (more than two)

🧠 Think like this:

👉 Many things → AMONG

✅ Examples:

  • He is standing among friends
  • The bird is flying among the trees

👉 You are part of a group, not between two clear sides

🎯 Deep Understanding (Very Important)

🔸 UNDER vs BELOW

  • Under → exact position (directly beneath)
  • Below → general level (not exact)

✅ The cat is under the table (direct)
✅ The temperature is below zero (level)

🔸 BETWEEN vs AMONG

  • Between → 2 things (clear sides)
  • Among → many things (group)

✅ Between Ali and Ahmed
✅ Among friends

🔸 ABOVE vs BELOW

  • Above → higher
  • Below → lower

🎯 Final Thinking Rule

Before choosing, ask yourself:

  • Is it directly under?UNDER
  • Is it just lower level?BELOW
  • Is it higher?ABOVE
  • Are there 2 things?BETWEEN
  • Are there many things?AMONG
